Some of you guys may remember me, others may not, but a few months ago i had a family emergency which forced me to sell my bad ass s14 1jz project in a hurry. Well the 17k i got for everything paid for the bills and left me with enough loot to pick up a replacement car. This time i found a clean ass 92 5 speed sc300. So which swap should I purchase and why? Budget allows about 4k with labor right now and i can get either 1jz non vvti, or vvti or 2jz aristos for well under 2k. Im looking for around 300whp to start. Also looking for the most reliable of the three. Since im on my iphone i will have to post up pics when i get home later.. I plqn on reusing my w58 as well to also save some upfrpnt dough on the initial build costs.

after spacers and coils were dropped more:

I will definately get out and take more pictures soon! And dont worry the buddy clubs are temporary, Works will be on this car as well, but first it needs a serious heart trasnplant.

Personally I'd go ith the 1jz setup, because its what they had in japan and would make your sc that much more of a Soarer. But a 2jz would be awsome as well...

Glad you are back with a new project and that you were able to help your family.

For your budget, the 1jz is going to be cheaper to buy. 2jz torque would be nice in a vehicle of that weight but either way you go you will make a bunch of power eventually.

I'm also glad to see you back here too!

I would go with the 2JZ in this car actually. Even though it is a Soarer, the car weighs more than a MKIV Supra, and it could really use the extra torque to get it moving. It would be more cost effective to get the 1JZ w/R154 so its up to you if this is a budget build.

I went 1JZ in my Supra not for cost, but for the original factor.

looking forward to another quality build!
